We are happy to introduce the very first edition of our Onlinevents newsletter. This initiative has been prompted by the recent rebuild of our learning library and our commitment to keeping everyone informed about the exciting new developments in the library and our live events.

At Onlinevents, we are deeply committed to accessibility, reflected in our radical inclusion policy. Our “pay what you can” tickets for live events and a low monthly subscription model for our learning library ensure that everyone can participate and benefit from our resources.

In this newsletter, you can expect to stay up to date with the latest enhancements to our learning library, including new features and content. We will also keep you informed about exciting new partnerships and the live events we will create together. Additionally, we’ll highlight what’s new and trending in the library.

This newsletter will be published weekly, and we hope you will enjoy staying up to date with us. We encourage you to give us your feedback on how we can improve and what you would like to see in our live events and learning library. Your input is invaluable as we strive to make the community and resources better for everyone.

Thank you for being a part of the Onlinevents community!

Introducing Our New Learning Library

We’ve rebuilt our learning library to provide you with an enhanced user experience. The website is now much faster to access, and all of your CPD certificates earned in the previous library are available to view.

We have already transferred more than 1,100 pieces of learning, including thousands of videos, and we are working on the remaining 600 pieces from the previous library, which should be available in the coming weeks. We would love for you to log in and let us know your experience with the library, especially if there is anything missing or not working for you. We are working tirelessly with the web development team to iron out all the wrinkles in the new site as fast as we can.

We are also excited to make the learning experience, including our live events and the learning library where the recordings are posted, as bespoke as possible to your learning journey.

In the coming weeks and months, we are committed to making both our email communications and your experience of the learning library as tailored to your learning journey as possible. We hope you can be patient with us as we work on these systems and also provide frank feedback so we can make these functions work seamlessly. We want the technology to fade into the background so that you can focus on enjoying the community and the learning.

Seamless Ticketing and CPD Certificates: Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce that we will be releasing a new ticketing function in the next few weeks. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been using Eventbrite for our ticketing system, which has been an excellent and robust platform for purchasing tickets to our live events on Zoom. However, over the last six months, changes to the Eventbrite app have caused the ticket purchase button to disappear when viewing events on the app. This issue has been frustrating for many in the Onlinevents community, as it has made accessing tickets to our events difficult.

To address this, we are working on a new ticketing system that will be integrated directly into the new learning library. This system will be seamlessly incorporated into your user account, making it significantly easier for you to see which events you have booked tickets for, find your Zoom links, and discover upcoming events you want to attend live.

Additionally, we will be introducing a new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Certificate system. Once this function is in place, all of your CPD certificates from the live events you attend will be available to view within your account in the learning library.

We are excited about these upcoming changes and believe they will greatly enhance your experience with our platform.

New Partnership with the Existential Movement

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with the Existential Movement. The Existential Movement’s mission statement is “Bringing Wisdom to the World”. If you have been wondering where you might be able to find a group of people who want to bring their knowledge and experience to a worldwide movement for a better way of life, you have just found it.

Existential ideas are a powerfully alternative way of looking at human existence. These ideas have been around for many millennia, in the Athenian philosophies, the Eastern philosophical traditions, and even, in a sense, in pagan philosophies. They became much more prominent in the 19th century with the writings of Soren Kierkegaard and Friedrich Nietzsche and came to fruition with the work of Husserl, when he provided the method of phenomenology.

Most people have heard about existentialism, a mainly French 20th-century philosophical movement, that broke the mold of philosophy and made it about human existence, rather than about human knowledge.

Since then existential ideas have been applied vigorously to the practice of psychology and psychotherapy and a movement of existential therapy was generated over the past century, that is now extremely popular. All around the world existential therapists work in this way and every four years they come together for the World Congress of Existential Therapy.

However, it has now become vital to broaden the scope of the movement. As the world is in turmoil and going through extremely dangerous times, humanity seems to have lost track of the things that really matter. People have placed consumerism, profitability, and competition at the foreground of human existence and have stopped noticing how they are ruining the ecosystem of the planet as well as the emotional climate in which we all live.

We have already delivered our first two events together over the last few weeks and are excited to announce that we are now working on an upcoming conference titled “Into the Wild Woods: Existential Responses to Turbulent Times”.

Conference Description:

Join us for “Into the Wild Woods: Existential Responses to Turbulent Times”, where we will delve into the pressing issues of our time and explore existential approaches to address them. This conference will bring together thought leaders and practitioners to discuss and develop strategies for a more meaningful and sustainable way of living.
