This workshop will introduce a range of creative and embodied techniques to work safely with clients where early years trauma is an issue, verbal expression is challenging and/or if you’re just experiencing a “stuckness” in your work together. In TA terms, these work effectively with clients who hold Injunctions of Don’t Speak, Don’t be a Child, Don’t Feel as well as others, as they engage the Child ego state in gentle, safe and creative ways that encourage connection and release. These techniques are also very effective with young people and children.
I will share some basic TA and polyvagal theory to support these approaches, which can also be shared with clients to support their Adult understanding. There will then be an opportunity to experience the creative and embodied processes either individually, in pairs or small groups. I will be using visualisations, polyvagal and trauma informed exercises, movement, creative media.
