Learn how to use breathwork to help clients resolve trauma and uncover the deeper story of their lives.

We all carry stories.

There’s the stories of our life experience. There’s the stories of what has happened to us. There’s the stories we tell ourselves about our family and the stories of our culture. There’s the story of who we are.

What happens to our stories when we experience trauma?

Trauma disrupts story.

When we experience trauma it disrupts our ability to create an autobiographical narrative of what happened. It fragments our sense of self. It disconnects us from who we are. We have an incomplete story. We may also have an entire other story hidden from view in our bodies, waiting to be retrieved.

We may have created stories. Popular stories might be ‘My family was just a normal happy family’. ‘I’m okay really’. ‘It wasn’t important’. Or perhaps the story might be ‘they were never there for me’.

There’s always a deeper story. A truer story. A more healing story.

One way to create a more accurate story is through breathwork. Conscious Connected Breathwork enables clients to access the subconscious and bring to light the missing pieces of their story. It enables them to integrate the stories they carry in their bodies into a coherent narrative, for a more complete sense of who they are, what has happened in their lives and what it means now. It helps them to create more helpful stories.

When clients can tell their story they are liberated.

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore the practice of Conscious Connected Breathing as a way to help clients who have experienced trauma recover their story. Drawing on neuroscience and case study examples, we’ll see how breathwork can help clients find a more accurate story that reflects who they are and what they are here for. You will leave with a context for understanding trauma that puts the client and their story at the heart of the healing process.

This work will be part theory and presentation, part experiential and you will get the opportunity to explore Conscious Connected breathing for yourself with some breathwork exercises, including a 20-30 minute guided session. For the guided session please have somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down, with cushions/pillows and a blanket so you can really allow yourself to relax and get the most from the session.
