TA is a powerful modality for supporting a client to understand their intra and inter psychic processes. Embodiment is an attending to the senses and incorporating this into physical awareness to deepen the healing process. Through connecting TA theories with Autonomic Nervous System awareness, this can support clients and practitioners to understand how these ideas apply to their biology. This in turn allows us to have a more holistic approach to our practice and selves; an integration of “head down and body up” approaches.

Jo Grace will use Core TA theories such as the Functional Ego State model, OK Corral, Script analysis and Drama Triangle and connect these to nervous system states as explained by Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal theory and the Window of Tolerance. This provides both the practitioner and client a deeper application of the TA theories to the survival fight/flight/freeze states. Working with the body awareness clients and practitioners can use TA language to understand better which state their body is experiencing and to strengthen the Adult ego state, which is fundamentally a healthy, regulated, and resilient state in the body.

Jo will also be sharing a range of somatic embodiment based and creative exercises to support your practice and understanding how to shift the body states whilst applying this to TA theory which offers additional tools to the talking therapy model and offers deeper support in terms of developing the Integrating Adult.
