Sharon Ferguson
Sharon Ferguson, Peer Lead Donegal Wellness Café’s. I am a Peer Support worker within Mental Health Services in Donegal. I have worked in many areas professionally as both a counsellor and support worker and have brought these skills to my work as a peer in supporting and sustaining recovery in Donegal, alongside my lived experience of mental illness. I am a trained EOLAS facilitator and trainer and have been involved with The Road We Travel a research exhibition which was presented last year at the conference. I have recently been accepted as a co-author to the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing for this work. I hold a BA in Business Enterprise & Community Development and am currently studying for a BA in Social Enterprise Leadership & Management. I am a member of Donegal Mental Health Forum, and I am the Service User representative on Donegal Mental Management Team. I am the co-ordinator for First Fortnight Mental Health festival with Donegal Wellness cafes.
