About
Sam Chubbock
Sam holds an honours degree in Equine Science and Management, has worked for World Horse Welfare for 20 years and is currently their Head of UK Support. Sam was instrumental in the development of many of World Horse Welfare’s horse owner support materials, especially around weight management and end-of-life decision making. She was in the first World Horse Welfare cohort trained in Motivational Interviewing and has led in sharing this knowledge with other animal welfare and health workers. Although not from a human health or care background, Sam has integrated both Motivational Interviewing and Supervision into her work. Sam’s role involves supporting frontline animal welfare workers as well as speaking directly to horse owners about challenging topics and difficult decisions. Sam keeps a variety of rescued animals, including a cat, five chickens and a turkey called Gloria.
