From this training you will go away understanding the levels of Social Care involvement when working with families. The training will explain what support social care provide at each level and what support mums receive and most importantly may not receive.

This is a very complicated system that many parents fail to understand. Underpinning this training we will explore parents emotions at each stage.

Health professionals, Counsellors, social worker, family support workers, or any professionals involved with working with mums with social care involvement. This course will help provide a clearer understanding of the legal process and also how to work with the mums to engage and support them therapeutically.

Kate Blakemore

Kate Blakemore is a mum of three, who is a counsellor with specialism in infant loss and birth trauma. Kate has had her private counselling practice since 2012 and has a diploma in Specialist Fertility Counselling.

Kate is also the founder and Chief Executive of the charity Motherwell Cheshire, a Women and Girls Charity which was founded in 2015.

Kate is passionate about supporting women and girls and in particular mums mental health. Kate felt there were many books out there for new mums but nothing really available for the “mothering journey” and so the start of the book “mums the word – the mothering journey” began.
