When there have been ruptures with key attachment figures and interferences at crucial times in development , it’s not uncommon for patterns to be re-enacted within the therapy space. Having a deeper understanding of child development can support our therapeutic work particularly when things seem stuck, perplexing and consuming.

In this workshop Kate will be drawing upon various theoretical ideas to help you gain a deeper insight into your clients earlier years, factors and conditions that shape the psyche, physiology and behaviour of the growing child.

Ideas will include object relations theory, sociocultural theory, cognitive & behavioural theory and trauma theory.

You’ll come away with a well-rounded view of child development and important key qualities for you to develop to support the reparative relationship.
