Workshop Description
Parts work has rocketed into the therapeutic arena of late, with trauma & Internal Family Systems therapy becoming popular. More and more therapists are appreciating the parts within their clients, that we aren’t a singular self, and bringing parts language into their work. Therapist are often left wondering where to take the concept and how to use it as a therapeutic tool to bring about lasting change.
Other questions are asked: Just what is parts work and how did it originate? How might I know which linage to explore further and importantly how do I introduce parts work into my practice?
These questions will be the focus of this workshop. We’ll look at too key linages – that of Jungian Psychology and how work with archetypes has been modernised into the Psychology of Selves model by Hal and Sidra Stone, and Family Therapy and how Richard Schwartz has developed his popular Internal Family Systems therapy.
This will be an informative, fun and explorative workshop where we’ll explore parts somatically and creatively; have some colours and paper to hand!
Kate is running a 30 hour Parts Advanced Certificate with Temenos, online, via Zoom from Sept – Dec 2023. Click here to find out more.
