Trauma all to often leaves a person feeling unsafe within their body and unable to be ‘with’ themselves in the world. Reacting from a survival response of shut down and dissociation further severs their connection with others and themselves. In order to get through life, habitual ways of living prevail that further sever connection and increase distress.
In this workshop you’ll learn a range of breathwork and embodiment practices to support your traumatised clients to connect back in with their body and work towards utilising their body as a resource, rather than the enemy.
Curiosity and compassion is promoted throughout this workshop as we explore together:-
- Dissociation, depersonalisation and derealisation
- breathwork and embodiment practices for soothing, self regulation and promotion of self-care
- Keeping the therapist grounded and in their body
