During emergencies, when people are searching for safety and basic needs, we, as mental health frontliners working with children, are also addressing their well-being. What PSS interventions can we implement through drama and theater during this challenging period without being intrusive? Additionally, how can we deliver positive key messages to children during this war from frontliners and caregivers?

Karim Dakroub will share an experience of PSS intervention in emergencies through puppetry and drama, currently taking place in Lebanon with displaced children across various areas. This session will highlight the successes and results of this intervention.

This short talk will be beneficial for social workers, psychotherapists, artists, and frontliners. It will be conducted in Arabic.

Karim Dakroub

Karim DAKROUB, PhD, is a clinical psychologist/psychotherapist, theatre director, puppeteer, and a psychosocial consultant. He is currently a professor at the Lebanese University. As a founder and president of KHAYAL Association for Arts and Education, he designed and managed several cultural, social, and psychosocial projects, and worked with various local and international organizations. His puppet theatre plays were staged in many festivals around the world. He worked as a psychosocial expert and a trainer as response on different wars and crisis of the middle east.
