In this workshop, we’ll explore body image; what it is, how negative body image impacts people, and how we can work with clients experiencing body image problems. Mel speaks from both a lived experience and a professional perspective, sharing her own stories and difficulties with body image in the past, and most importantly – what has helped!
We’ll consider the impact of weight stigma and weight biases, and other intersecting parts of identity. We’ll look at societal and cultural narratives and pressures, and consider our own biases (we all have them!) in turn to be able to support others.
There will be opportunities to reflect on your own body image but no pressure to share anything about yourself.
