Tracey Lynne Desjardins

Hi! I am Tracey, an Emotional Therapeutic Counsellor. Originally from Canada, I have lived in England since 1998 and have also spent three years living in India. With an abundance of global travel, I bring a diverse perspective to my counselling practice.

Prior to re-training as a Therapeutic Counsellor in 2021, I worked in the Criminal Justice System as a Probation Officer, working extensively with addiction, relationship difficulties, sexualised behaviours, and anger management.

Throughout my career with the MOJ, I furthered my education, where I studied at post graduate level, completing a PG Cert in Psychotherapy Studies, BA (Hons) Social Sciences and more recently, a Diploma Level 4 in Emotional Therapeutic Counselling.

I also took onboard several opportunities to enhance my knowledge and specialise within domestic violence, sexual offending and modern slavery human trafficking.

As a therapist, I have a keen interest and developed specialisms in the Sensory-Processing Sensitivity (aka HSP) Imposter Syndrome and Inner Child model.

Emotional Therapeutic Counselling (ETC) is an integrated approach to psychotherapy that helps people to understand and process their emotions in a safe and supportive environment. The practice of ETC believes that managing our emotions is key to our well-being, and that by understanding and working with our emotions, we can improve our overall mental health.

ETC supports individuals with challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and shame. It will help you to develop a better understanding of your emotions, improve coping strategies and resilience, as well as building stronger relationships. This approach helps clients overcome emotional blocks, achieve goals, and enhance happiness.
