Working Creatively with Stories for Wellbeing: The Dream Makers

Date and time

January 10, 2025 @ 13:00 - 15:00

About this event

Working Creatively with Stories for Wellbeing: The Dream Makers, a Scottish Fairy Tale Workshop with Jennifer Ramsay

In this interactive workshop, we journey deep into an ancient, magical folk tale from Skye in Scotland.

We will explore the story using tools from the Story Arte creative toolbox. Gestalt therapy, expressive arts therapies and psychodrama will accompany us on the voyage.

As we get lost in the mists of time with our protagonist, we will discover the treasures hidden deep in the cave in the mountain that will take us deep into the world of dreams.

This workshop is experiential, and participants will be invited to explore the story in depth and engage actively in the activities.

Stories have been with us since the very beginning of humanity when we gathered around the fire to listen to myths of creation to connect us with our inner selves, our clan and the universe. Stories have accompanied us through dark times, of war and plague and they are here to accompany us now, with their medicine, in this time of uncertainty.

In this workshop:

  • We will call upon the ancient wisdom of this folk tale to guide us.
  • We will experiment with creative tools; drawing, journaling, and perhaps enter a scene through psychodrama as we deepen into the symbolic language of the story.
  • We will connect with our dreams for the future
