Understanding Adverse Child Experiences Workshop with Kate Blakemore

This course is for professionals and any individuals with an interest in the impact of childhood trauma or trauma recovery.

The workshop will explore ways to work therapeutically with adults who have experienced ACES.

On completion of the day you will be able to:

understand what adverse childhood experiences (ACES) are

understand the brain development in the early years.

understand the impact on adulthood after ACE

know what “best practice” support looks like

look at therapeutic approaches to working with individuals who have been impacted by trauma

Who is This Workshop Appropriate For?

  • This workshop is appropriate for Health Professionals, Counsellors, Social Workers, and Support Workers

How May This Workshop Impact Your Practice?

  • This workshops will help individuals understand how ACES can impact relationships with adults who have lived experience of ACES. It will also offer guidance about what community support is available.

RECORDING 

This workshop will be recorded and you can use the ticket function to pre-purchase the recording before the event. This will be useful for colleagues who are not able to attend the event live and also for those who attend the event live and want to watch it again.

ZOOM 

This workshop will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform where we will use our cameras and microphones to interact with each other as a group.

The guide price for this event is £20.00, however, we appreciate that income varies greatly in different locations and circumstances. Kate Blakemore

Kate Blakemore BA (hons) Bus. Man. Diploma in Counselling. Award in Teaching. Diploma in fertility counselling.

Kate is a person centred counsellor and has had her own private practice for 12 years. Kate is also the founder on Motherwell Cheshire a charity set up to support women and girls mental health and wellbeing. Kate is also the author of the book – “Mums the word – The Mothering Journey”.

Kate has worked therapeutically with mums involved with Social Care and also mums who have had the children removed for many years and is passionate about supporting them to move with their lives, she developed the Believe Project www.believe-motherwell.co.uk an evidenced based project, evaluated by Chester University,

QUALIFICATIONS

-BA (hons) Business Management

-Counselling Diploma in Person-Centered Counselling

-Accredited infant loss counsellor

-Specialist Birth trauma counsellor

-Diploma in Specialist infant loss counselling

– Currently working towards a diploma is Compassion Training Therapy.
