Humane Administration: Building & Maintaining Therapeutic Organisations

Date and time

June 26, 2025 @ 18:00 - 19:00

About this event

Therapeutic and Dynamic Model of Administration: Setting Up Social Action Projects Rooted in Therapeutic Principles Part 6 w/ Beverley Costa

In this sixth conversation we consider therapeutically framed administration as performative support. This means administrative support for everyone in the organisation. Above all, it represents support for the organisation’s beneficiaries (whatever form the beneficiaries take).

We will discuss the role of humane and dynamic administration in The Containing Frame (Costa. 2025). The Containing Frame is conceptualised as a series of concentric circles where the beneficiary is at the centre, surrounded by the frontline supporters, who are in turn surrounded by the humane administrative and management structures. The circles are interdependent. Each circle depends on the others for their existence. But they also mutually support and enrich each other. The processes involved in this form of interdependent support are dynamic and they are humane.
