Workshop Description
This workshop is part of the SCoPEd Training series, designed to support practitioners in meeting the knowledge-based competences outlined in the SCoPEd framework.
Auditing and evaluation are vital skills for therapeutic practitioners, yet I would argue strongly that there is little explicit, focussed and solid training around what comprises auditing in counselling and therapy.
This overlooked competence will be addressed through a structured presentation with interactive elements, and participants will explore, among other aspects, the following:
- The fundamentals: what is therapeutic auditing and evaluation and why is it relevant for the work that we do
- Strategies for making the most of auditing in various practice settings
- Why auditing, when done well, can be in itself therapeutic
- A fundamental question: who or what ultimately are we evaluating and auditing over our work?
This workshop is essential for practitioners seeking to enhance their understanding of auditing and evaluation over therapy to meet accreditation requirements under the SCoPEd Framework, as well as for practitioners, supervisors and organisational leaders who work and lead in this ever-present area of therapeutic practice.

Jonno Ward is an experienced psychotherapeutic trainer and director of a successful training centre who has a deep working knowledge of the SCoPEd framework. He has consulted for national professional bodies and training providers to support them in the implementation of SCoPEd and is a course assessor on a NHSE-funded training course that works to the SCoPEd framework.
