The phrase ‘Putting your own mask on first’ is an airline safety instruction emphasising the importance of securing your own safety before assisting others.
This workshop will explore supervision as a first line of defence in the protection against burnout. What learning can we adopt from this instruction for individuals, teams and organisations under pressure?

Dr Lynda Meina
Dr Lynda Meina is a Consultant Clinical & Forensic Psychologist. She currently works at Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) where she is the Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Director of Psychology. NSFT is a specialist mental health service.
Dr. Lauren Staples
Dr. Lauren Staples is a clinical psychologist, registered with HCPC, with over ten years’ experience working within the NHS and in private practice. As well as being a qualified clinical psychologist Lauren has additional training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy and is registered as a CAT practitioner with the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy.
Paul Johnson
Paul Johnson is a qualified Group Analytic Psychotherapist and Registered Mental Health Nurse, as well as a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD). He specialises in clinical and professional supervision, Coaching/mentorship, leadership and workforce development, including staff engagement.
