Move & Breathe: To Reduce Stress and Restore Calm Workshop with Sarah Hunt

Start your morning with some of the most effective movement and breathing practices for reducing the impact of stress on your body and restoring your natural state of calm.

This session will guide you through some simple techniques to release stored tension, improve your posture; breathing patterns and harness the power of your physiology to feel more energy, clear the mental fog of stress and restore your parasympathetic nervous system’s natural calm state.

Movements are a unique combination of yoga, pilates, functional movement, and fascia release, combined with specific breathwork I love for releasing stress. The aim of this session is really to show you what’s possible when it comes to movement’s ability to release stress. And to give you a few simple combinations of movements and breathing practices you can use at home in the morning, between clients during the working day, and/or at the end of the day to release stored tension and physiological impacts of stress. You’ll feel good and, most importantly, Empowered to take that next practical step to reduce the impact of stress in your life.

And of course you’ll also find lots you can share with your clients.

Learning Objective Participants Can Expect From This Event

  • experience simple movement and breathing practices to reduce stored tension and stress in the body
  • understand on an experiential level how stress in the body impacts our mental and emotional state, and ways we can reduce this physiological stress with simple combinations of movement and breathing
  • understand why these practices work from a physiological and scientific perspective so we are more motivated to keep practicing
  • learn ways to improve our posture and how that can improve our mental and emotional state
  • learn how to release lower back stiffness, prevent back pain and improve the rounding posture in the upper back due to desk work
  • understand the deeper impact of stress on the body and why these specific movements and breathing exercises have such an impact on our health

Who is This Workshop Appropriate For?

  • This workshop is open to all therapists and those interested in using movement, breathing and posture to reduce stress and improve mental, energetic and emotional well-being.

How May This Workshop Impact Your Practice?

  • This workshop will give participants a practical way to reduce the impact of stress in their life and body and improve their health span. It will also give participants new movement and breathing practices to share with their clients who are experiences stress and anxiety in their own lives.

RECORDING 

This event will be recorded and you can use the ticket function to pre-purchase the recording before the event. This will be useful for colleagues who are not able to attend the event live and also for those who attend the event live and want to watch it again.

ZOOM 

This event will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform where we will use our cameras and microphones to interact with each other as a group.

Sarah Hunt

Sarah Beth Hunt is a meditation and breathwork coach, yoga teacher and founder of Messy Luminous Being online platform. She received Ph.D. in Indian Studies from the University of Cambridge, and has trained in both the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhist meditation and traditional yoga through the British Wheel of Yoga. She currently works with clients using movement, breathwork and mind-training practices to harness the body’s physiology and the mind-body connection and transform their inner state.
