Mind-Body Communication for Nervous System Balance – Sarah Hunt

Date and time

October 24 @ 13:00 - 15:00

About this event

Mind-Body Communication for Nervous System Balance Workshop with Sarah Hunt

How do our mind and body actually communicate to each other and how can we use this understanding to improve the health and balance of our Nervous System?

In this workshop we’ll dive into the science behind the mind-body (or neurological-biochemical-physiological) connection. We’ll discuss how brainwaves and brain function changes in stress states versus relaxed/creation states.

This workshop will also discuss Vicious Cycles vs. Virtuous Cycles in the body, including how we can find ourselves and our clients in Vicious Cycles of stress and anxiety, and how to use breathing, mindful movement and a simple meditation practice to intervene on these repetitive Vicious Cycles and transform them into Virtuous Cycles of resilience and increased inner calm.

Learning Objective Participants Can Expect From This Event

  • an understanding of the new science of the mind-body connection
  • insight into how the body gets trapped in Vicious Cycles of stress response and what this actually means at a biochemical-neurological level
  • an understanding of what a Virtuous Cycle can look like for our Nervous System
  • an experience of a few simple movement, breathing & meditation techniques to shift the body from vicious cycles of stress and nervous system disregulation to a Virtuous Cycle of nervous system balance and resilience
  • a change to discuss ways to practice ourselves and share these simple movement, breathing and meditation practices with our clients

Who is This Workshop Appropriate For?

  • This workshop is open to all therapists and those interesting in learning more about the mind-body connection from both a scientific perspective & an experiential movement and breath practice.

How May This Workshop Impact Your Practice?

  • This workshop will give participants a chance to explore the science behind the mind-body connection and will hopefully give lots of food for thought about ways to support ourselves and our clients in therapeutic practice.
