About this event

How to Help Your Clients Manage Overwhelm Workshop with Maureen Cooper

There are times when the demands of our life can feel like an assault, when there are just too many things to take care and to see to that we feel utterly overwhelmed. We might be trying to deal with relationship problems, or financial worries, or a new boss at work who wants us to step up—or we might simply be trying to cope with the intensity and uncertainty of the daily round.

At times like these, our own feelings of responsibility and guilt can drive us to try harder, to take on more and try to catch up until we feel confused and exhausted. Alternatively, our fears of not being able to cope can leave us wanting to crawl into a hole and stay there or run as far away as we can. If this continues for too long, we can end up feeling depressed and unwell.

This workshop will explore what leads to feeling overwhelmed and how it manifests in our lives. We’ll look at our habits and attitudes that lead to overwhelm and look at adopting new strategies to help us cope in a more sustainable way. Participants will receive a PDF workbook with exercises that they can use for working with their clients.
