About this event

From Trauma to Resilience: The Neuroscience of Somatic Resourcing Workshop with Kate Williams

As humans we are hardwired for both connection and survival. Trauma overrides connection with ourselves, others and life with survival being priority. As trauma blocks connection, along with this goes joy, compassion, creativity and peace. A person will have less capacity to engage with a range of feelings & emotions with a tendency to avoid much of life’s riches. With ‘soma’ meaning body, developing a clients repertoire of somatic resources they will be able to adapt themselves in a variety of situations, coming into a place of resilience. Being resilient will help a client to regulate after a distressing event, to adjust themselves to different environments with an experience of safety in their body and take movements towards wellbeing and a fulfilling life.

In this workshop we’ll take a look at how somatic resourcing can change the neuroplasticity of the brain, rewiring the nervous system for a deeper connection & appreciation of life.
