About this event
This is a practical session designed to explore a few simple ways to use breathing exercises as the start of a therapeutic session. Breathwork can often be a great way to ground ourselves, regulate nerves and allow clients to clarify what’s important to them, how they feel and get the most benefit from their therapy session. Keeping the exercises simple, we will discuss a few techniques, key teaching points to use when leading your client through the exercises, troubleshooting and time for questions and discussion so we can learn from each other’s experience. As everyone experiences breathing practices differently, it’s helpful not only to have personal experience of these breathing practices but hear a range of experiences, common difficulties and ways to accommodate different client experiences with breathing.

- Gaining personal experience of a few breathing exercises that can be used at the start of a therapy session
- Learning how to instruct these breathing exercises, specific phrasing that might help clients feel clear on what to do, and troubleshooting points to watch out for when teaching these breathing practices
- time to explore with the group through Q&A and discussion some different ways to bring breathwork into the beginning of a therapy session

- This workshop is open to all therapists and those interesting in learning more about using breathing exercises within a therapeutic setting with clients.

- This workshop will give participants new level of experience with a few simple breathing practices and specific instructions on how to teach these breathing practices to others.

This event will be recorded and you can use the ticket function to pre-purchase the recording before the event. This will be useful for colleagues who are not able to attend the event live and also for those who attend the event live and want to watch it again.
ZOOM
This event will be hosted on the Zoom meeting platform where we will use our cameras and microphones to interact with each other as a group.

Sarah Hunt
Sarah Beth Hunt is a meditation and breathwork coach, yoga teacher and founder of Messy Luminous Being online platform. She received Ph.D. in Indian Studies from the University of Cambridge, and has trained in both the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhist meditation and traditional yoga through the British Wheel of Yoga. She currently works with clients using movement, breathwork and mind-training practices to harness the body’s physiology and the mind-body connection and transform their inner state.
