About this event
This is a practical session designed to explore a few simple ways to use breathing exercises as ‘homework’ for clients to support nervous system balance and emotional regulation between therapy session. Breathwork can be one of the most profound ways to improve anxiety and chronic stress responses in the body. It can also help us feel mentally grounded and clients tools they can take anywhere they go to support their mental health.
In this sessions we will discuss a few simple breathing practices that work well as home practices. I have found that it is often clients struggling with anxiety and the impacts of chronic stress that are the most committed to their at home breathing practices! We will discuss teaching points for each breathing exercises, how to give these exercises as homework and give clients appropriate expectations as they work with their breath on different days and different circumstances, troubleshooting issues to be aware of and how to start and progress based on individual client’s experiences. There will be time for discussion and Q&A so we can learn from each other as a group.
