About this event

Beyond the Affair: Restoring Trust and Rebuilding Relationships Workshop with Dr. Kalanit Ben-Ari

Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our previous discussion on this topic and the request for a longer session, we are offering it again for two hours. This repeated workshop aims to provide even more tools and ample time to address your questions.

Here is the feedback from the one-hour talk Dr. Ben-Ari presented on the topic:
“This was a fantastic hour, and so relevant for work with couples or individuals. It gave me so many ideas, as well as reassuring me that I am working along the right lines. One of the best CPD sessions I have experienced.”

“An amazing, insightful and emotive session covering some much in a short time and opening the way for further exploration. Thank you so much!”

“Excellent – learned so much in just one hour. Kalanit has such a warm, authentic presence, clearly brings a great deal of experience, and is a brilliant, succinct communicator. Her structure will have a very helpful impact on my work with couples.”

“Better in an hour than a year’s couples course I have just finished!”

The only repeated request was to offer it again in a longer session! So here we are, presenting it again, but this time for two hours but this time for two hours, with more time to delve deeper into the topic and have a dedicated Q&A session.

In this talk Dr Kalanit Ben-Ari addresses the delicate and intricate work required to mend the bonds of trust shattered by infidelity. Over the course of 2 hours, we aim to arm therapists and relationship counselors with the deep understanding and empathetic approaches necessary for guiding couples through the stormy aftermath of an affair.

We delve into the nuanced process of fostering a safe environment where both partners can openly share their pain and vulnerability. Recognising the immense challenge this represents, our focus is on equipping professionals with the skills to facilitate these challenging conversations, ensuring they are conducted with sensitivity, understanding, and a clear direction towards healing.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • The Foundations of Rebuilding Trust: Understanding the multifaceted nature of trust and the steps required to rebuild it from the ground up.
  • Navigating Difficult Conversations: Techniques for managing emotionally charged discussions and transforming them into opportunities for growth and understanding.
  • Holding onto Hope: Strategies for instilling hope in couples, demonstrating that recovery is not only possible but can lead to a deeper, more meaningful connection.
  • Fostering Forgiveness and Healing: Guidance on encouraging forgiveness and facilitating the healing process, emphasising the importance of patience and time.
  • Reconnecting and Rebuilding: Practical advice for helping couples rediscover their bond, establish new relationship norms, and build a future that honours both their individual needs and their partnership.

This session is about guiding couples to move towards each other with a renewed sense of purpose, compassion, and love, crafting a relationship that is not only healed but thriving. Therapists and counselors will leave this talk with a toolkit for supporting their clients in turning one of the most challenging experiences of their lives into a powerful catalyst for growth and renewal.
