About this event
Join us to honour and remember Maria Albertsen, a remarkable activist, counsellor, and friend.
January 12th would have been Maria’s 45th birthday, and this event is a chance to celebrate her: her life, her work, and her enduring impact on our profession.
Maria was an effective and unique advocate for counsellors and psychotherapists, especially for those harmed by the culture of unpaid work. Her passion for the profession was matched by her passion for the people within it, she worked tirelessly to create more just and reflective practices.
She also inspired us to be brave, diplomatic, and grounded in genuine ethics, to build relationships with those who don’t directly benefit our own interests, and approach challenges with hope, humility and a commitment to action.
As we share stories, memories and reflections, let’s hold Maria close and meet with the same courage, care and spirit that she exemplified.
Maria’s family has requested that any donations are to be directed to St Benedict’s Hospice, via the link below: https://www.stbenedicts.co.uk/support-us/donate
