Focusing on issues of trauma that counsellors and therapists with young people bring to supervision.

How can relational supervision best help practitioners to manage their responses to deep loss and hurt in young clients?

We will identify how illness, loss, economic and ecological factors impact on young people, leading to growing numbers needing psychological help.

Safe, stabilising and life enhancing trauma -informed practices will be explored. The aim is to restore the practitioner in supervision and enable a fuller presence with young clients where there is or has been trauma.

Essential reading on trauma in young people:

‘The boy who was raised as a dog’ Bruce Perry

‘The Simple Guide to Child Trauma’ Betsy de Thierry
