This talk analyzes global systemic oppression through the lens of Fanita English’s ideas of ‘Survival Conclusion,’ Gloria Noriega’s’ Trans-generational Script theory, and evolutionary psychology. Various types of “Othering” psychology will be explored as specific inter-generational scripts that emerged from the time of the ice-age and developed to become colonial and enslavement systems birthed in the 16th century. These long-standing scripts are suggested to be maladaptive in the twenty-first century, a vehicle for third-degree games and fatal catastrophic environmental payoffs. These are scripts that perpetuate inequity and oppression and hinder collaborative problem-solving in a globalized, diverse world.

Classical notions of the I+U+ position have become limiting. Whether it is the therapist-client dyad, the organizational imago, or educational culture, it has become impossible to ignore globalization, diversity, inequities, and ecological disasters. TA theory can evolve to address wider social and global systems, ecological systems, and economic systems. The “Inclusive Encounter” as an existential life position ‘I+ U+ Planet+’ offers a sense of collective belonging and needed collaborative problem-solving.
