There are times in our lives when we feel stuck, we can be torn between a desire for something and the limits of our current reality (e.g. such as wanting to go on holiday during a COVID lockdown), or alternatively we can be torn between two competing urges within ourselves (e.g. wanting to keep ourselves safe in the current situation and craving the company of others). This can be an uncomfortable place.
In therapy, clients can also feel confused and stuck about which way to go. In TA this can be seen as an Impasse and impasses can operate at different levels.
In this workshop, we will discuss and explore the nature of impasse and how we might work effectively with it.

Mark is an experienced and qualified UKCP registered psychotherapist and has a private practice based in East Sussex. An accomplished teacher, he has previously taught in a variety of settings including Counselling Skills and Diploma courses. He is now a Co-director and core trainer at the Link Centre, a training centre for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
A qualified TA supervisor, he runs a supervision practice for other counsellors and therapists. As a committed mindfulness practitioner, Mark has subsequently completed a training to run mindfulness courses.
