After a series of popular workshops, lead by Kate, on breathwork and embodiment practices, one question that always gets asked is, how do I apply these to practice and how do I do this in a safe way?

Somatic resources can reduce overwhelm, help to ground a client when they are dysregulated, help a client cope with difficult feelings, increase self compassion and increase the window of tolerance. You’ll also be introduced to exercises to strengthen internal boundaries. In this workshop we’ll explore the benefits that these different somatic resources bring; discuss safety and appropriate timing and how these resources fit within phase 1 of trauma treatment.

This workshop will include time in breakout rooms to discuss applications to practice with your colleagues. It will also include exercises in standing and seated positions that you’ll be invited to join in with. Kate will give variations where possible.

If you managed to attend Part 1 – you will have been guided through a range of somatic resources all designed to boost and/or calm your nervous system. In Part 2, we’ll be exploring how you can integrate these practices into your client work.
