Attachment and Bonding shapes each person’s unconscious relational patterns about Self-in-Relationship. These relational patterns are the core of a person’s Life Script. Although some attachment patterns are formed early in life (as Eric Berne said, “with mother’s milk”) therapeutic experiences have shown that we form a variety of bonds with others based on the quality and frequency of having someone who is responsive to our Relational-Needs. In this presentation Dr. Erskine will describe the research on Relational-Needs and how they are essential in the process of bonding and in the practice of psychotherapy and counselling.
