From the Psychology of Selves model, developed by Hal and Sidra Stone, Kate will introduce you to the fascinating and easily accessible subject of parts work.
The routes of parts work lay in Jungian theory with the archetypes, persona and shadow being brought into a language and way of working that is practical whilst carrying deep meaning for those who encounter it.
Have you ever found it difficult to make a decision where one part of you really wants to go in one direct and another part wants to go in another? Have you had an experience of being ‘taken-over’ by a part of you where you hardly recognised the person you became? Do you ever have a year where EVERYONE in your address book gets a Christmas card and then the following year, you just can’t be bothered? Well, in these scenarios, parts of you are at play and possibly opposing parts. Opposing parts that have different thoughts, feelings and world views; opposing parts that can sometimes get us into trouble or worse still break down a relationship.
This workshop will introduce you to the origins of parts work from the work of Hal and Sidra Stone, including:
- how the persona takes shape and becomes your identity
- how the shadow is formed and the problems this can cause
- how each part of us carries a gift
- how you can start to integrate your disowned parts and become whole again
