Introduction to the ACC – our role as an accredited register of counsellors under the Professional Standards Authority – maintaining and upholding standards for counselling by professional counsellors who are Christian and as an organisation that supports, sustains, equips, and resources counsellors.
Thoughts and ideas about how faith and spirituality could be safely integrated into counselling practice, what might be important to Christian clients, and how to challenge problematic religious beliefs.

I am the Director of Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Association of Christian Counsellors. I lead the module on Spiritual Direction at Waverley Abbey College, am a visiting tutor on their MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and previously taught on the BA in counselling with a specialism in integrating Counselling and Spirituality. I have a small private counselling and supervision practice, and am happy to do ad hoc counselling CPD training when requested. I enjoy a rich and hectic life blessed with family, friends, colleagues, and meaningful work to do. Occasionally, I get to read a book just for pleasure.
