Vicarious trauma, burn out and compassion fatigue are very real occupational hazards for those in the helping professions. This workshop is first and foremost for you but it will also support the work you do with other helpers to identify nervous system responses, somatic over or under responses and psychological responses in the work we do.

During this workshop we’ll explore:

  • the meaning of these terms
  • the role of empathy and how empathy can be both a blessing and a curse for therapists
  • the body and how we somatically reinforce unhelpful patterns
  • the role of Polyvagal Theory
  • Exercises to support us when working with traumatised clients

This workshop will be recorded and you can use the ticket function to pre-purchase the recording before the event. This will be useful for colleagues who are not able to attend the event live and also for those who attend the event live and want to watch again.
