Guided Mindfulness Meditation Practice with Jinny Gupta

Presenter

Jinny Gupta

My name is Jinny Gupta (UKCP registered) and I am a psychotherapist with a private practice in West London. I have a special interest in working with individuals, especially women, who are going through life transitions and are dealing with issues concerning identity, connection with self and others, and spirituality.

My life’s purpose is to bring forward the tools and technologies offered by the contemplative traditions of the East along with the knowledge of Western psychology and neuroscience. I want to help each person re-connect with their innate will and wisdom so one feels empowered to make different choices, or choose not to change anything at all! Those ‘aha!’ moments in therapy are thrilling, no doubt; and my wish for my clients is that through psychotherapy, mindfulness, meditation and self-compassion, they are able to integrate those insights in their day-to-day lives in a way that they soon experience the world with a sense of wonder and awe.

In addition to running a private practice, I also provide clinical supervision to trainee psychotherapists at Headstrong Counselling in London. Additionally, I offer therapeutic support to people in the NHS and frontline services. I am trained as a Mindfulness and Meditation teacher (in the Rinzai Zen tradition through Zenways) with many years of practice, and offer 8-week Meditation and Mindfulness courses to individuals and groups.

In the past, I have worked in various mental-health settings such as West London NHS Trust (WLNT), MIND-Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing Abbey Counselling Service (EACS) and West London Centre for Counselling (WLCC). Prior to this, I worked as an Economist and Healthcare advisor for more than a decade with the government and private sectors in India, Malawi and Iceland.

I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (ADIP) from Regent’s University, London and a Master’s in Economic Development and Policy Analysis from the University of Nottingham.
