With the growth in adult identification and diagnosis of ADHD, many clients we see in practice might be considering or using medication to manage the symptoms that cause them difficulty.

Facilitated by a therapist with ADHD herself, and with experience working with many ADHD adults, this is an honest and nuanced look at medication as a support strategy for ADHD adults.

This session aims to support counsellors and other professionals working with ADHD adults to be informed about medication and work sensitively and affirmatively alongside clients who may be using medication for ADHD or considering their options.

Learning Objective Participants Can Expect From This Event

  • We’ll look at how ADHD medication works and what it is designed to do.
  • We’ll examine the titration process patients must go through and how it can impact clients’ lives.
  • We’ll discuss why people may choose medication as a strategy (or not) and how to support clients navigating decisions around it.
