This workshop will recap the underlying theory behind boarding school syndrome (see Oct 8th workshop) before looking at the particular experience of boys at boarding school and how this may play out in their adult lives.
Often boys are sent to boarding school at 8 (sometimes younger)and we will look at the developmental impact of being sent at various ages and how this may play out in the therapy room.
Typical presenting issues will be discussed so that they are more easily recognisable when they present in therapy.
We will also look at some of the challenges in working with this client group.
