“… I will call on the aid of my ancestors and they must surely help me for, right now, I am the only reason they ever existed at all.” from the film ‘Amistad’

Sometimes we have a sense of estrangement that arises from feeling disconnected from our origins. In TA we think of our Parent ego state as the container for our family, community and cultural roots. This model is a method of bringing our internal generations into chronological alignment so that no part of our Child ego state is caring for a Parent ego state. The exercise can promote a sense of community and belonging as well as giving an immense internal resource to call upon when we need connection and support which are particularly important to foster in view of the COVID pandemic.
