Presenter
Integrative analytic-systemic and interpersonal psychotherapist based in Beirut, Lebanon, with over a decade of specialized experience in humanitarian contexts. Currently pursuing his PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nicosia, Ali holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Lebanese University and is an active member of the Lebanese Order of Psychologists (LOPSY), the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA), and the International Society for Interpersonal Psychotherapy (ISIPT).
Ali has established himself as an expert in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV), working with vulnerable populations affected by conflict and displacement. His international experience spans multiple countries including Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Yemen, Ethiopia, Malawi, and Palestinian refugee camps, where he has collaborated with prestigious organizations such as the International Rescue Committee, UNRWA, International Medical Corps, Médecins Sans Frontières, UNICEF, and UNHCR.
As a curriculum developer and trainer, Ali has created specialized MHPSS programs for crisis-affected populations. He has led capacity-building initiatives to train local staff and organizations in developing sustainable mental health support systems with a particular focus on gender-sensitive approaches.
In addition to his humanitarian work, Ali maintains a private practice in Beirut as an analytic-systemic psychotherapist and serves as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselor for organizations in the USA and Luxembourg. He is also the principal investigator for research on the feasibility of Group Interpersonal Psychotherapy in Lebanon, combining his clinical expertise with scholarly contributions to the field.
