This is the second of a two-part workshop exploring divorce and relationship breakdown from a relational perspective, with an emphasis on how psychotherapy can help through this painful and often devastating process. This second instalment builds on the first (from October 5th) however both parts can be attended as a stand-alone workshop.
In this second workshop we will be focusing on the impact of an unwanted divorce on the person who has been left, and the psychotherapeutic needs of someone going through this very individual and specific process of loss and grief.
This workshop will have an integrative relational perspective with a focus on Transactional Analysis, although prior knowledge of TA is not essential. Using client examples, we will explore the importance of the therapeutic relationship for those going through divorce; we will examine how using this relationship can offer the potential for significant intrapsychic and interpersonal change through this traumatic and transformative period in our clients’ lives.
