About this event

Reflections in Landscape Workshop with Andy Whitehouse and James Brunt

Person-centred therapist Andy Whitehouse and land artist James Brunt offer an invitation to play, to improvise a creative response to the environment we find ourselves in using materials found in the landscape. This could be anything from stones on a balcony through to leaves in a wood or pebbles on a shoreline or riverbank. Can we find an empathic response to our environment, and create something in which we find our own meanings. How might that transfer to and refresh our practice as therapists? What is exposed in terms of our conditions of worth when we step into improvisation, and how can this help us to truly find ourselves? The benefits of play and improvisation, drawing on the ideas of Rogers and Winnicott, are broadly explored with an invitation to participants to step outside in their own neighbourhood, as James and Andy broadcast from a Yorkshire landscape. Share what you find when you shake off the shackles and allow yourself to play!
