The aim of this lecture is to share some of the developments of the Person Centered and Experiential Literature and Research Database and then focus on the development of the Research part of the Database. The idea of the literature database originated from the bibliographies of the World Association for Person-Centered & Experiential Psychotherapy & Counseling (WAPCEPC) compiled by Germain Lietaer, Sheila Haugh, Frans Depestele, and Peter F. Schmid. In 2018 in the Vienna conference, it was decided that the website should have a dedicated research section where research articles, projects and research protocols are available to users (researchers, practitioners, students). Currently there are over 11,000 articles, books, chapters and theses relating to Person Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counselling in over 10 different languages.

The research part of the database is in development and our vision is to offer a space where research protocols are shared and methods are clearly presented. During this lecture you will have the opportunity to explore the website though short videos, and it will be explained how entries can be imported. Each entry could contain specific sections such as, keywords, description, methods, procedures (research protocols, interview questions), ethical approval (Consent forms, information sheets), reflexivity indicative references and more. Authors will be able to add extra sections. Our aspiration is for this database to be a collaborative endeavor, authors and co-authors could have access, import their work and further explain. We are looking forward to a discussion and we welcome ideas on how we could take this further.

Exploring The Development Of The PCE-Literature And Research Database - Sophia Balamoutsou, Brian Rodgers & David Oberreiter

organisation

World Association of Person Centered & Experiential Psychotherapy & Counselling (WAPCEPC)

The World Association for Person-Centered & Experiential Psychotherapy & Counseling had its genesis in the mid 1990s after person-centred theoreticians and practitioners felt there was not an adequate representation of the PCA at the First World Conference on Psychotherapy (WCP) in July 1996.

Nearly 25 years since it was officially formed, our desire remains to be an identifiable, international organization serving as a world-wide forum.
