Unconscious Relational Patterns influence the reactions and expectations that define for us the kind of world we live in, the people we are, and the quality of interpersonal relationships we will have with others.

Seminar Details

Both Fritz Perls and Eric Berne referred to these unconscious relational patterns as Life Scripts. In this Zoom Seminar Richard Erskine explore how our clients’ Life Scripts may be composed of physiological survival reactions, implicit conclusions, explicit decisions, and/or the introjection of the attitudes and feelings of significant others.

Dr. Erskine will describe how our approach to psychotherapy must be adjusted to the various way in which our clients’ Relational Patterns were formed. We will discuss when it is appropriate to do: body-oriented therapy; relational psychotherapy; emotionally expressive and redecisional forms of therapy; or resolution of introjections
