Every health professional will experience clients who are struggling with anxiety in some form or other. In fact, as professionals, we may well also experience our own challenges with this. TA has been used very effectively with working with this client group and can be used in a wide range of contexts and client presentations.

Ganna has personal experience of working with many clients presenting with anxiety and, as a Doctor and Psychotherapist from Ukraine, also holding and managing her own fear response. In this workshop Ganna will share her own thinking developed from using concepts from TA and Psychoanalysis.

During the first part of the workshop participants were invited to think about the core of the anxious self, the potential causes and origins of pervading anxiety and looked at models that could help practitioners to manage their own process and work with clients more effectively considering the therapeutic steps to take.

The second part of the workshop will be devoted to some clear therapeutic steps to take while working with anxiety: methods of deconfusion, containment and holding (including the difference between them), childhood photo technique of self-reparenting, usage of countertransference and self-disclosure, decontamination techniques, mindfulness approach, grounding techniques.
