In this workshop, Mark will be discussing a number of issues which arise when working with suicidal clients. We will discuss a range of suicidality, from ‘passing thoughts’ to imminent intention. Specifically, Mark will focus on understanding the onset and development of suicidal process, and offer some practical strategies for risk assessment and management.

Mark is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, teaching and supervising transactional analyst and EMDR Europe accredited practitioner. He is passionate about integrating neuroscience into psychotherapy and in finding ways for therapists to make use of research findings in their practice. He is the author of Transactional Analysis: 100 Key Points and Techniques and Transactional Analysis for Depression: A step-by-step treatment manual. He has received two international awards for his research on the effectiveness of TA for depression and is a TEDx speaker. He has a private practice in central Manchester and is a senior lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy at the University of Salford.
