As helpers, we are all vulnerable to vicarious trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue. It is the main hazard that we face as therapists. This workshop will help you and your clients who are also in the helping profession, to understand patterns that lead to these conditions and most importantly how we can safeguard against them.

In this workshop you’ll:

  • learn the key features of burnout, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue
  • learn more about the body and how it holds patterns that can make us vulnerable
  • become more familiar with your nervous system and the window of tolerance
  • learn some playful and creative ways to safeguard yourself against these conditions
  • and in doing so gain valuable ideas that you can bring into your client work

This workshop will introduce you to a range of somatic resources, many of which can be carried out seated. Some, however, will invite you to stand and move but you will be offered variations should you prefer or need to stay seated.
