Are more and more of your client presenting with trauma and early attachment rupture? Do you fear of retraumatising your clients? Do you sometimes wonder a more trauma-informed framework is needed within your client work?
If so, then look no further. As a Somatic Trauma Therapist Kate has developed her practice with Judith Herman’s Three Phase Trauma treatment model at it’s heart.
Trauma work requires the knowledge of working safely, in the here and now with clients to help them build resilience and to reclaim their personal power. Often core training promotes client autonomy from the start, enabling clients to direct their sessions. Whilst working collaboratively, with autonomy in mind, with trauma clients, therapists also need to be skilled in knowing when to pace the work, slow things down and bring a client back to the hear and now. This requires a therapist to help clients identify when they have enough resilience to work through their trauma.
A knowledge of the three phased model will provide you with the knowledge to identify where a client is in their trauma processing and how to proceed safely.
