About this event

40 Years of the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision: Where it started, how it has developed and where does it need to go next?

In this webinar, Professor Peter Hawkins and Joan Wilmot will delve into the 40-year evolution of the Seven-Eyed Model, first written as a paper in 1985. They will trace its journey from its initial purpose, through its collaborative development by Peter Hawkins with Robin Shohet, Joan Wilmot and Judy Ryde and the first edition of the book Supervision in the Helping Professions in 1989, and its adaptation for the coaching world in the 1990s, culminating in its publication by Peter Hawkins Nick Smith in their 2006 and 2013 book.

They will also discuss the model’s more recent systemic advancements and highlight findings from recent research, exploring how the model can continue to evolve over the next 40 years.
