Somatic resources play an important part in Phase 1 of trauma treatment.

Workshop Details

In this workshop, you will experience a range of somatic resources to stimulate your vagus nerve, reset your nervous system, ground and invigorate.

Somatic resourcing promotes bottom-up trauma recovery and is now widely used by trauma therapists. Trauma, anxiety and depression severs the connection to the body preventing a person from being in the flow of life, feeling at home within themselves and feeling comfortable in relationships.

In this workshop, you will not only discover valuable resources for your trauma clients, but also for you to protect yourself from vicarious trauma. My hope is that you’ll leave the workshop knowing your nervous system just that bit better.

The workshop will include:

  • The importance of placing focus on the body
  • How it can support your work as a helper/therapist
  • An exploration of the vagus nerve
  • A range of somatic resources for you and your clients. These will take place both seated and standing (alternative will be provided for those unable to stand).
